Why Some Products Aren’t Available in The Survived Stroke Store
At The Survived Stroke Store, I work hard to find and review tools that can help stroke survivors improve their recovery and independence. However, some of the products I review can’t be sold directly through the store.
That’s because certain rehabilitation devices are proprietary medical technologies that require professional fitting, training, or medical approval. In many cases, they may also involve Medicare or insurance authorization before they can be used.
Examples of these products include:
SaeboFlex
MyoPro
Vivistim
IpsiHand
These advanced devices often require evaluation by a doctor, occupational therapist (OT), or physical therapist (PT) to determine whether they are appropriate for your specific condition.
Even though I can’t offer them directly in the store, I still review them because it’s important for stroke survivors to know what technologies and rehabilitation options exist. My goal is to help you discover tools that might support your recovery.
When I cover these types of products, I’ll direct you to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) so you can learn more about how the device works, who qualifies, and how to begin the evaluation process.
Think of these reviews as a starting point for research and conversation. If something looks promising, the next step is to discuss it with your doctor or OT/PT to see if it might be right for you.
Recovery tools are evolving every year, and staying informed can open the door to new possibilities in stroke rehabilitation.
